Sweltering Week Ahead

Good Afternoon Athens and North Georgia!

The stiflingly hot and humid conditions plaguing our area over the past couple of days look to unfortunately intensify over the week. Overnight and into tomorrow, we will see relatively calm winds in the morning hours, followed by an uptick of northerly flow associated with sporadic afternoon scattered showers, typical of a Georgia Summer.

Oppressive dew points consistently hanging in the 70's will maintain back the muggy weather we are well acquitted to in the summer, along with the lingering possibilities of stray showers all week. Tomorrow, we are giving a 20% of showers for both Athens and Canton, so be sure to pack those umbrellas in case of a sudden heavy downpour.

Looking at our temperature outlook, we will see lows only drop down to a warm 75° in Athens and 72° in Canton. Highs tomorrow will extremely hot, sitting around the mid-90's, with Athens at 96° and Canton just slightly cooler at 93°. Be sure to pack lots of sunscreen if you plan on being outside for a while!

Have a great rest of your day and Go Dawgs!
