Winter's Summer

Good evening, Athens! Today we reached a high of 79 degrees with sunny skies all day. It was a perfect day to relax outside and soak up the sun!! With temperatures like these, it's hard to believe it's winter; however, a weak cold front moving in will cause a slight drop in temperatures as the week goes on.

Looking ahead to tonight, Athens is expected to experience a low of 46 degrees with fairly calm winds, so late-night activities won't be significantly affected by the cooler temperatures. Tomorrow we will rebound back into the 70s, but barely, with highs in the low 70s!

The cold front is expected to arrive tomorrow on Thursday, potentially bringing scattered showers to north Georgia, but significant storms are not anticipated. Tomorrow's high is predicted to be 71 degrees, which is cooler than today, yet Athens should still experience pleasant weather. In the days ahead, temperatures will start to drop into the 60s instead of the 70s, but it is expected to be quite nice for this time of year.

Across North Georgia tomorrow, we have pretty similar conditions, with highs in the lower 70s and slightly colder temperatures in the North Georgia mountains. Those scattered showers will move along this region after 2pm and continue throughout the evening, but they shouldn't cause many issues in terms of your day-to-day activities.

With that being said, go outside and enjoy the weather tomorrow! Make sure to monitor those scattered showers, and if your area is affected, dress accordingly. Thank you for reading, and GO DAWGS!
