A Stretch of Sunshine (and cooler weather)

Good evening Athens!

It has been a nice start to our week so far as we can see by today’s chilly start making way for a high in the mid 70s this afternoon. As we go into the evening hours, we will see those temperatures begin to drop quite rapidly over night expecting a repeat of temperatures in the mid 40s tomorrow morning. As for any other disturbances, tonights forecast should be clear, cool, and dry with no signs of any precipitation.

Moving further into the week, temperatures are expected to drop even more as a result of a dry cold front moving through the southeast. While it doesn’t help the ongoing drought issue in the southeast, little to no precipitation will be moving through the area with this front, so be aware that temperatures will be slightly cooler moving into the later portion of this week, and maybe expect some gustier winds throughout Wednesday after the front moves through.

For what we can see right now, high pressure should persist for the remainder of the week and into the weekend, with the potential for some showers early next week. Get excited because fall weather has made its entrance and is here to stay! pull out those coats and sweaters and enjoy the cooler weather!

Have a good week and go dawgs!
