Colder Temperatures Ahead

Hello, Athens! We had a fabulous day with sunny skies, hitting an impressive high of 81. Hopefully, you got a chance to step outside and soak it all in. But before we get too comfortable with this heat, Mother Nature has other plans. A strong cold front is moving in, and things are about to cool down.

Temperatures will drop to a mild 50 degrees in Athens, with winds and clouds making an appearance later in the night. The incoming cold front will bring us some potential showers for the morning hours, but we shouldn't see much for Athens. If you have an early class, do a quick window check before heading out—grabbing a rain jacket might not be a bad idea.

Say a temporary goodbye to that summer-like heat because cooler, breezier weather is moving in. After some morning rain, skies will clear up a bit, leaving us with partly cloudy skies and a high of 60 degrees. Not quite as warm as today, but still decent for some outdoor plans—just make sure to layer up!

North Georgia will see scattered showers throughout the day, but no major storms are expected. Highs will range from the upper 40s to the upper 50s, with chillier temps in the mountains and slightly warmer conditions closer to Athens.

So, enjoy the cool-down tomorrow, dress accordingly, and most importantly—GO DAWGS!
