Perfect Gameday Conditions

Good evening, Athens! We've had a picture-perfect day today: clear-blue skies accompanying temperatures in the upper 70s. Not much will change as we look toward the start of the weekend.

Overnight, Athens can expect a low in the low 50s, while areas across the Atlanta Metro can expect slightly higher temperatures, in the mid 50s. It will feel a bit chilly tomorrow morning - make sure you grab a jacket on your way out the door! You will want to shed this extra layer by tomorrow afternoon as high temperatures rise to the mid 70s. We will continue to enjoy clear skies throughout this period.

For Georgia's 3:30 P.M. game against Ole Miss on Saturday, beautiful conditions are in store! We will be sunny, with temperatures around 80 at kickoff. Towards the end of the game, temperatures will dip down into the 70s, and they will continue to drop further after sunset.

After Saturday's game, Sunday will bring some much needed rain! Scattered showers will occur ahead of a cold front; however, this still won't be enough rain to mitigate the moderate to severe drought conditions spanning most of the state. The good news is, with this cold front will come a slightly cooler start to next week. Morning temperatures could break into the 40s for the first time this season!

Stay tuned as the WeatherDawgs bring you all the latest on this weekend's rain chances. In the meantime, enjoy the game, stay safe, and, as always, Go Dawgs!
